What would be the easiest way to learn guitar?

I am a college student who is now attending for his first year, so lessons probably aren’t going to be the way to go with time problems, but what are some suggestions on books or websites that would be the easiest way to learn to play guitar. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Buy a guitar chord book. There are many on the market often with such imaginative titles as Guitar Chords http://www.chordbook.com/ is a website that has the same information for free. Also has a tuner and Scales on there too. There are plenty of tab sites online but these can often be wrongly tabbed as they are user submitted. The way i learned was by reading a british magazine called Total Guitar, then Guitar Techniques when i became more advanced. A good way to learn is to jam along lead lines with your favourite songs which will give you a good idea of the dynamic of a band. Other than that meeting up with friends who already play to get some pointers and the best possible way to learn- jam.
    Hope that helps

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com is full of video or written lessons in specific categories so you can sort of pick what you want to learn and go from there. I suggest starting with a few scales and chords.

I had the same problem. The only product out there that works for me is Play it Now Tunes. They are CD’s that teach you how to play a specific song individually. You need no prior knowledge of music, they explain everything clearly, and they are affordable. I love them, they are the only thing that works for me. http://www.playitnowtunes.com

    Good luck!
