How do I maintenance my garden pond during the spring?

I have a garden pond, that runs through all 4 seasons. I was wondering if there were any tips or suggestions on how I should go about the maintenance of the pond.
All suggestions and tips are very much appreciated.

What can I put on my lawn tractor to remove a well established lawn?

I have a mature well established lawn. I need to remove and till a section about 4′ X 8′ for a garden. I already have a lawn tractor. What can I use with it to make easy work of this chore?

When building a garden pond, must all the EPDM be coverered with rocks – all the way to the bottom?

I’m building a waterfall that empties into a pond (that’s where the pump and skimmer are.) Some people say that I need to cover the EPDM with rocks – but the sides of the pond are steep, even with the ledges that I dug into them.

Is it okay just to put rocks around the perimeter of the EPDM? Will the EPDM get damaged otherwise?

What other materials besides rocks can I use?

What garden pond plants are best for zone 5?

I have about a 350 gallon pond with a waterfall. The pond is lined.

What plants can be used with a lined pond given there is no soil at bottom to plant anything in?

Does anyone know where i can obtain funding in bristol or the uk for a large gardening project in a community building i am working in.
We have little funding and would like the people in the community to come and enjoy what we have here. There are 4 gardens – a memorial garden – a courtyard – a creche and a kitchen garden. please email sallystockham@hotmail.co.uk if you have any ideas? thanks

I live in Massachusetts, and I write a monthly vegetable garden column for my local newspaper. I have written two articles already, but now I don’t really know what i should write about. My first one was basically an introduction to gardening, and the second was about getting it started. I would appreciate any suggestions!

Any books you can recommend for indoor gardening?

I don’t live in an area where I can have a big beautiful garden outdoors. So, I wanted to try and grow some pretty flowers indoors.

I plan on getting some of the long, shallow tubs meant to store clothing under beds, and I will fill those with soil and put my flowers in there. Hopefully it will work.

Are there any books you can recommend for indoor gardening?

If not, can I at least get some helpful hints?

Which countries around the world have lots of gardening centres?
There are certainly plenty in my native England, because there are so many keen gardeners. Where else would I expect to see garden centres, and gardens that the householders look after?

Anyone know about the best gardening strategies if you have severe back pain/strength issues?

I love to garden but have not been able to lift even 5 lb. garden soil bags since last season, or enjoy gardening as just pulling up soil with the shovel can put me in pain for days, due to a congenital back defect which is deteriorating. I have a very limited budget. Any suggestions? Thanks!
